A Spooktacular success!

Updated: Jan 26

On a wet and gloomy All Hallows Eve there were some strange goings on over at Stamshaw Junior School. On Halloween, you enter the school grounds at your own risk as the school is taken over by hungry zombies in search of brains....and perhaps your small change.

Adults and children dressed up as Zobies stood in front of an inflatable grim reaper archway

On the 31st October we launched our first ever 'Haunted School' event with a non-uniform day at Stamshaw Junior school.

Children donated sweets or £1 in exchange for wearing their costumes and we are so grateful for all of your generous donations.

We absolutely loved seeing all the children and staff dressed up in their Halloween costumes, enjoying the day and taking photos with some of our inflatables on the way into school.

As the school emptied at the end of the day and darkness set in, the school was transformed as zombies, skeletons, ghosts, ghouls, and even the Grim Reaper took over. The spooky scene was set ready to welcome 'trick-or-treaters' to our haunted school.

It was cold, wet and windy, but that didn't deter our amazing volunteers, or the local community who came out in force to support our event.

Children and their families came creeping in, braving the creepy witch and ghosts, and dodging the brain eating zombies to make their way to the treats hidden beyond. Screams were heard for miles around, coming from those brave enough to enter.

The people carried on coming right until the end, in awful weather conditions and the donation buckets filled..... and not just with rain. Throughout the day we raised a fantastic totalrom

£104.70 from the non-uniform day, plus lots of sweets for our trick-or-treaters,

and our donation buckets and QR codes added a further £70.65 to the total. We are so grateful for every donation and the support of our community and the event will be back next year, bigger and better.

In the meantime, take a look at our gallery of photos fromthe event and let us know what you thought in the comments.
